We hold to certain goals for the Bayash
Bible translation:
That it be accurate, readable and
stylized to modern everyday Bayash.
The target reader would be a Bayash
person with very limited public education but who is able to follow
the flow of the text if not all the meanings, which will be supported
by notes and supplemental teaching materials.
That it will be suitable for public and
private reading, teaching, preaching, memorizing, and liturgical use.
We are solid in our commitment to the
authority, inerrancy and infallibility of the Bible as God's Word in
written form.
With the nature and structure of the
Bayash language being as it is we will translate on the basis of
thought for thought rather than word for word.
We will take into consideration the
contextual meaning of Biblical words and thoughts as they are
presented in the manuscripts that are available to us today.
