The Bayash people have different levels of literacy in different regions according to their demographic profile.
Speaking in general terms the Bayash are moderately literate and are responsive to visual aids in communication settings.
As a result RBU has developed a test project using a comic book style of communication for material that would be best defined as a novel in genre. The first of these comics is Milena which is in a Bayash setting based on the novel Milena written by Bob Hitching.
The artist Illustrator of the Milena comic is Laura Dreyer who spent two weeks in several Bayash villages building an understanding of the visual environment needed to make the comic contextual to the Bayash culture.
